Delhi Capitals co-owner Parth Jindal shared an emotional post on social media on Tuesday following Rishabh Pant's departure from the franchise ahead of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 mega auction that took place in Jeddah recently. Pant, who was DC’s captain, parted ways with the franchise and was acquired by Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) for a whopping Rs 27 crore. Pant thus became the most expensive IPL player of all-time.

Best wishes from all of us at @DelhiCapitals- other than when you play DC I will be cheering and hoping for the best for you!,” he added.

On Tuesday, Pant, too shared a video on Instagram looking back at his DC career.
LSG will be Pant’s only second team in the IPL after having played only for DC since his IPL debut in 2016 (Delhi Daredevils back then). Till date, the 27-year-old has played 111 IPL matches and scored 3284 runs at a strike-rate of 148.93. This includes one century and 18 fifties. Pant had missed the 2023 IPL season as he was recovering from injuries he sustained during a horrific car accident in December 2022. Between 2021 and 2024, Pant led DC in 43 matches, winning 23 matches and losing 19. One match, in 2021 against Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH), ended in a tie and DC won the Super Over contest.
