IPL Retention 2025 Highlights: Find out the retained and released players as teams announce their lists

Players retained: Jasprit Bumrah (Rs 18 crore), Suryakumar Yadav (Rs 16.35 crore), Hardik Pandya (Rs 16.35 crore), Rohit Sharma (Rs 16.30 crore), Tilak Varma (Rs 8 crore)

Purse remaining: Rs 45 crore

A total of 37 crore, which means they have Rs 83 crore left in the auction purse.

Each IPL team is allowed to retain six players through retentions or by using the right-to-match cards in the mega auction. The players’ combination can have a maximum of five capped players (Indian and overseas) and a maximum of two uncapped (Indian) players. An IPL team has to pay Rs 4 crore for an uncapped player from its auction purse, while below is how much you have to play to retain capped players.

So overall if you retain 6 players including 5 capped and 1 uncapped player then Rs 79 crore from Rs 120 crore auction purse will be deducted. The above table doesn’t mean you have to play Rs 18 crore to two players to Rs 14 crore to two. A team can play as much as they want but this is how much money will be deducted for every single retention. If franchises end up paying more than Rs 79 crore then they will have more money deducted from their auction purse.
