Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) suffered a seven-wicket defeat to Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) in an IPL 2024 match at the Chinnaswamy Stadium on Friday. That was RCB’s second loss in three games this season after going down to Chennai Super Kings (CSK) in the season opener. RCB’s bowlers were under scrutiny after the defeat, with three of their six bowlers going for an economy rate of over 10. Phil Salt and Sunil Narine took on the RCB bowlers with ease before Venkatesh Iyer was ruthless with his fifty. KKR chased down a total of 183 with more than three overs to spare.

Tom Moody, former Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) coach, suggested RCB bring in Reece Topley and Lockie Ferguson with Alzarri Joseph proving to be ineffective. “#RCB have no choice but to play two overseas specialist pace bowlers. #Ferguson and #Topley must start. #IPL24,” posted Moody.

Former India all-rounder Irfan Pathan felt Faf du Plessis, the RCB skipper, should have bowled Glenn Maxwell in the powerplay.
Faf should have bowled maxwell in the power play. KKr did bowl Anukul in power play which worked in a way of economy.
