We talk about to play the best that we can.We wanted to start off well with the ball and create as much pressure as we could. We had to ask a lot of questions. We knew we had to create pressure as the wicket wasn’t easy and knew that wickets will come. They’re very dangerous down the order so we knew that to win this game we’d have to get We’ve always got belief. All of them is world class batsmen with Hardik, Pant and Dhoni who are all world class finishers. It is pretty special moment (going into the finals) and we look forward to that.

India have created a grandstand finish from a match that they were well out of contention in. From 24/4 there should have been no way back for India. But instead they stayed in the match, kept fighting and never gave up. 

India have lost, but they need to keep their heads held high. This was a remarkable performance from Ravindra Jadeja in particular, but the whole middle order in general.

New Zealand have made it to a second consecutive World Cup final.

New Zealand have sneaked into the World Cup final. You can say that or read it again, and believe it. The game turned when Jadeja got out, and then it was all on Dhoni. He tried but it was too much to do. Run-out by the closest margin for a second time in a World Cup semi-final. Is it the last of him we have seen? Maybe. 

India have been knocked out of the World Cup in the semis for a second time running. That’s the bigger headline, and arguably the biggest shock of this tournament yet.

New Zealand win by 18 runs to knock India out of the World Cup 2019

Boult called on to bowl the 48th over. He claims the massive wicket of Jadeja with a well-disguised slower ball, denting India’s hopes. Dhoni still out in the middle. Earlier in the over, Dhoni unfurls the pull and which looked to be heading towards the mid wicket fence is brilliant stopped by Santner, who puts in the dive to save a couple of his team. An excellent yorker from Boult is kept out by Jadeja and alert work from long on ensures they do not take the second run

A mini conference involving captain Williamson, Boult, Henry, and substitute for this game but a senior bowler in Tim Southee it is decided that Matt Henry will bowl the 47th over. He starts off really well with slew of change of pace deliveries and he finishes well as well. Just five singles from it. Jadeja tried to tap the ball past the short third man and backward point a couple of times but wasn’t able get it through. Henry’s over was a very good template of how to bowl on this pitch. Hold it just a back of length and mix your pace.

Seems like Kane is following the same ploy as he did against the Windies, bowling his strike bowlers before taking the game deep. Trusts the other bowlers to do the job. Jadeja and Dhoni has now hoisted a 100-run stand with Kiwis losing the grip. Jadeja earns a boundary via an outside edge and another over ends in India’s favour, they have taken 10 runs from it. Now require 42 to win off 24 balls.

This is a real test of the “agreed singles” policy. New Zealand are allowing India a lot of singles, happy for the ball to not go to the boundary.

The idea behind that is that every single makes India’s equation sightly more difficult. But the danger of it is one boundary, and the over now goes for 9 runs.

Ferguson will bowl his penultimate over. Williamson has to calculate carefully here. He had bowled out Ferguson and Boult before the 47th over in the league game against the West Indies and relied on Henry and Neesham to do the work towards in the end of the innings. Brathwaite did miscue a shot right at the fag end of the match that day, cannot hope to escape doing that everyday. Jadeja with a pressure-releasing six which aids India grner 10 runs off the over. Dhoni strangely once again leaving a short of a length ball outside off stump.

Neesham almost gets rid of Jadeja not once but twice, first with a slower short ball and then second with another slower full ball, both falling short of the fielders, earlier it was a top edge towards short fine leg and then a drag to long on. Neesham isn’t happy but there was little the fielders could do about. Tension keeps piling, now it is to see which team blinks first. Dhoni has been there and has arguably  the calmest nerves in the business, but the raw power has been eluding him. He might have find it for at least a couple of balls as pulling this off all alone could be very difficult. Neesham’s over costs seven runs.

Jadeja has now mistimed 4 different deliveries off Jimmy Neesham, all of them falling just short of a fielder.

When Jadeja came to the crease, Williamson brought Neesham on immediately. There’s a clear theory that Neesham matches up well against Jadeja, but the luck has been on Jadeja’s side so far.

Ferguson has delivered an over that New Zealand required after the first two overs of the final over powerplay leaked 18 runs.
