On the occasion of the 3rd ODI between India and England, taking place in Ahmedabad on 12 February, the International Cricket Council (ICC) Chairman, Jay Shah, took to Twitter to announce a groundbreaking initiative aimed at saving lives and inspiring positive change.

Jay Shah announces awareness initiative

The campaign, titled “Donate Organs, Save Lives,” seeks to raise awareness about the life-saving benefits of organ donation and encourage people around the world to pledge to donate.

There was some uncertainty regarding who will take the lead on this vital initiative, as it was unclear whether the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) or the ICC will take primary responsibility for overseeing it. Now, the BCCI has shared a video featuring Indian cricketers promoting the initiative, meaning the Indian board will lead the awareness program.
