India vs Austraia Prime Minister’s XI, Canberra weather report

According to Weather.com, there’s a warning for severe thunderstorm in Canberra on Saturday, which could mean that a significant amount of time may be lost in the two-day warm-up match between India and Prime Minister’s XI. “Rain likely for next several hours. Localized flooding is possible,” reads the forecast.

Having said that, the hourly weather forecast for Saturday and Sunday in Canberra do not look promising. There’s forecast for 100 per cent rain from 4 pm to 6 pm local time in Canberra, and while that reduces to 16 per cent at 8 pm local time, that increases to 52 per cent at 10 pm local time.

While chances of rain are relatively less on Sunday as per the weather forecast, showers and scattered thunderstorms are expected during the day before a cloudy evening sets up.

What happened in first India vs Australia Test?

India defeated Australia by 295 runs in the first Test that was played in Perth’s Optus Stadium. The visitors, led by Jasprit Bumrah in Rohit Sharma’s absence, had opted to bat first after winning the toss. However, that move backfired after India were all out for 150 in the first innings. Bumrah, however, led from the front with a five-wicket haul to wrap up Australia’s first innings for 104, thus giving India a 46-run lead.

Virat Kohli and Yashasvi Jaiswal scored centuries in the second innings as India posted 487/6 on the board, a total that they declared at. Australia were handed a target of 534, but the hosts were dismissed for 238 after Jasprit Bumrah and Mohammed Siraj shared six wickets between them. Regular skipper Rohit Sharma, who had missed the first Test following the birth of his second child, will return to lead the side in the second Test.
