India A’s top performers include pacers Rasikh Salam and Anshul Kamboj who have taken six and four wickets respectively, while Abhishek Sharma (127 runs) and Tilak Varma (101 runs) have done well with the bat.

India A won the inaugural edition of the ACC Emerging Teams Asia Cup in 2013 and have reached the final two more times, with the latest being in 2023 when they lost to Pakistan in the 50-over format.

Afghanistan A are yet to reach the final, having lost in the semi-finals in 2017 and 2019. On Friday, they will aim to stun India A and make history by reaching the summit clash in the ACC Emerging Teams Asia Cup.
