When Rohit and Kohli last made a Test century in India?

A look at the stats shows that Rohit’s recent Test form is not good. He has only scored 104 runs in eight innings in the ongoing 2024-25 season across four Tests, against Bangladesh and New Zealand. His highest score in these eight innings has been 52 which came in the first Test against New Zealand at the M Chinnswamy Stadium in Bengaluru.

Rohit, however, did get some big scores in the Test series against England at home earlier this year. He scored two centuries in the five-match series and one fifty. Overall he scored 400 runs innings at an average of 44.44.

Kohli, however, has not made a hundred on the Indian soil for a while. His last century in a Test at home came against Australia in March 2023 when he scored 186 in the Ahmedabad Test which ended in a draw. It should also be noted that Kohli missed the five-match Test series against England in early 2024 due to personal reasons and scored a 70 against New Zealand in the first Test last week.

Rohit and Kohli are struggling at home in Tests

The overall disconcerting fact, however, is the alarming dip in the home form for both batters in India.

Kohli in eight Test matches at home since the start of 2023 has only scored 484 runs at an average of 37.23 with just one century to his name.

Rohit has also struggled at home since the start of 2023, scoring just 746 runs in 13 Tests at an average of 32.43 and smashing three hundreds.

This is a far cry from their overall Test record at home.

Kohli has played 54 Tests at home since making his debut, scoring 4331 runs at an average of 56.98 with 14 hundreds.

Rohit has 2506 runs to his name in 33 Tests since his debut at home against West Indies in 2013. The Indian captain has a home Test batting average of 53.31 with 10 hundreds.
