India will take on England in the third an final ODI at Ahmedabad’s Narendra Modi Stadium on Wednesday (12 February). The match will be the last for both teams before the 2025 ICC Champions Trophy that will get underway on 19 February.
The Men in Blue have already sealed the series, with four-wicket wins ins Nagpur and Cuttack, and the third ODI will provide an opportunity for both teams to experiment with their playing XIs for one last time. As far as India are concerned , they could bring in Rishabh Pant for KL Rahul, with the latter having struggled for runs in the last two ODIs. And what’s more, Pant offers a more aggressive batting option for India.
With uncertainty over Jasprit Bumrah’s participation growing, pacer Arshdeep Singh’s role in the Team India playing XI becomes all the more important. He could replace Mohammed Shami in the playing XI if the team management decides to rest the latter. Similarly, Kuldeep Yadav and Washington Sundar could come in for Varun Chakravarthy and Ravindra Jadeja respectively. England, who will miss the injured Jacob Bethell , will likely go into the third ODI with an unchanged playing XI.
