Also in the Men in Blue’s squad for the England ODIs is Mohammed Shami, who has not played an ODI since the 2023 World Cup final against Australia due to an ankle injury. Shami, though, did make his international comeback during the T20I series against England, in which he picked up three wickets .
England announced their playing XI for Thursday’s series opener on Wednesday, with the biggest takeaway being the return of Joe Root . Root will play his first ODI since the 2023 Cricket World Cup.
