Australia have added all-rounder Beau Webster to their squad for the second Test against India, which will be played at Adelaide from 6 December. The Day/Night Test could see Webster, who plays for Tasmania, make his international debut in place of Mitchell Marsh.
All-rounder Marsh is in danger of missing the second Border-Gavaskar Trophy Test match after pulling up “sore” following Australia’s 295-run defeat in Perth earlier this week .
Webster, 30, is also a seam-bowling all-rounder who has 148 wickets from 93 first-class matches and 5297 runs including 12 hundreds.

“To get a few runs and wickets (for Australia A) was pleasing against a strong Indian side,” Webster said after receiving his maiden call-up. “Any time you’re playing ‘A’ cricket, it’s the one step below Test level, so it does hold you in good stead.
“To get the call from ‘Bails’ (selection chair George Bailey) at the end of the NSW (Shield) game was a really proud moment and I can’t wait to get stuck in. There’s a tight turnaround between the Adelaide and Gabba Test so I think (I’m there) just to have some cover there for that middle-order role, whichever way they go.”
