ICC T20 World Cup 2024: Full schedule of ninth edition of mega event set to be hosted in West Indies and USA

The ICC on Friday announced the full schedule for this year’s T20 World Cup that will be jointly hosted by the West Indies and the USA, with Team India set to face arch-rivals Pakistan in New York City on 9 June. The tournament kicks off in Dallas where USA face their neighbours to the north Canada, while co-hosts West Indies open their account against Papua New Guinea at the Providence Stadium in Georgetown, Guyana the following day.

The Men in Blue, who will be aiming to end their decade-long ICC trophy drought later this summer, are placed in Group A alongside Pakistan, Ireland, Canada and co-hosts USA. They face Ireland in their opening game on 5 June and Pakistan four days later. The Indians are up against the Americans on the 12th, and face the Canadians four days later. Their first three fixtures will take place in New York City while the fourth match will take place at Lauderhill near Miami, Florida on the 15th.

While quite a few matches will be taking place on American soil during the group stage, the West Indies will get the lion’s share of matches during the Super Eights, which will feature the top two nations from each group. Additionally, Cricket West Indies (CWI) will host the knockouts, with Guyana (26 June) and Trinidad and Tobago (27 June) hosting the two semi-finals while Barbados’ Kensington Oval (29 June) hosts the final.
