Champions Trophy 2025, ICC Meeting LIVE Updates: The final model of the 2025 ICC Champions Trophy is reportedly set to be announced on Monday (2 December). As per a report in news agency PTI, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has accepted hosting the Champions Trophy in a hybrid model but on one condition.
That condition is if the International Cricket Council (ICC) could implement the same in global tournaments being held in India till 2031. However, a decision on the same has not yet been made official, but there are reports that the final model for the Champions Trophy could be announced on Monday.
In November, the BCCI had informed the ICC that India would not be travelling to Pakistan for the 2025 Champions Trophy due to security concerns. Although the PCB were initially reluctant on implementing a hybrid model, they seem to have changed their stance on the same after the ICC reportedly gave them an ultimatum.
India have not travelled to Pakistan since 2008, when the Men in Blue played the Asia Cup in the country, and over the years, the two teams have not faced off in bilateral series owing to political tensions.
Pakistan, however, dd travel to India for the 2023 ODI World Cup last year, where they finished in fifth place, thus missing a spot in the semi-finals.
As per the draft schedule, the Champions Trophy is slated to begin on 19 February next year and go on till 9 March. The schedule is yet to be officially announced.
Champions Trophy 2025 teams list
