Highlights, India vs Sri Lanka, 1st Test at Mohali, Full cricket score: Rohit wins first match as Test captain as hosts take 1-0 lead

That’s that from this Test match between India and Sri Lanka. The Lankans will have a lot to work on, heading to the day-night Test in Bengaluru starting from 12 March. Rohit Sharma and Co can celebrate this win before they shift their focus to the series-decider. We hope you enjoyed our coverage of this game. Until next time, it’s goodbye!

Jadeja: “This is my lucky ground. Whenever I come here, I always get positive vibes. I was looking to build partnership with wicket. To be honest I don’t know about stats (hundred and ten-for) but I am happy to do well with bat and ball. When you perform like this, you feel very confident. I haven’t done anything differently with my batting, just backing my instincts. I try to settle down and after that I play my shots. I try to keep it simple.”

Ravindra Jadeja is the Man of Match for his 175* and nine wickets in the match (No surprises there!)

**Rohit Sharma, India captain: “**It was a good start (To Rohit’s captaincy career). It was a great game of cricket from our perspective. We ticked all the boxes we wanted to. To be honest I didn’t think it is going to be that kind of a Test match which would get over in three days. It was a good batting pitch, there was some turn and some assistance for the seamers as well.”

Dimuth Karunaratne, Sri Lanka captain: “I think the batsmen need to put their hands up and bat longer. We thought the wicket was going to be up and down on day three, so we played three seamers. Unfortunately, we couldn’t execute our plans well.”

Time for the presentation ceremony.
