That’s all we have got for today. The rains stayed away, the spectators were loud and noisy as they should be but unfortunately the Indian team had an off day. Credit to Australia, especially the young left-arm bowler Jason Behrendroff, he will be the talking point when India will go into the third and the final T20I in Hyderabad. Zampa finally had a good day at the office after a horrid tour. And The Australian batsmen didn’t let their efforts go in vain as the duo of Henriques and Head stood up after Warner and Finch were dismissed cheaply ensuring Aussies keep the series alive.

Great news for cricket fans as there all to play for in Hyderabad. Do join us on the last match of this Australian tour, we will be more than happy to have company. Goodbye and ciao.

Watch Devdutt Kshirsagar from Barsapara Cricket Stadium analyse the 2nd T20I between India and Australia along with the fans from Guwahati

October 10, 2017, 22:30:25 (IST)
Jason Behrendorff (Man of the Match): It’s not too often I get in front of the camera, so it is something I need to work on. It’s good I can put that bravado. I have been working hard to play for Australia, and loving every minute of it. They’re as a whole a class team. Nice to take a few wickets at the start. It’s an honour playing for my country.
October 10, 2017, 22:30:06 (IST)
Jason Behrendorff is the Man of the Match for his figures of 4/21
October 10, 2017, 22:27:16 (IST)
David Warner (Australia captain): “Feels great. As I said at the toss if we bowl well. He is got the height, bounce, comes from Perth and more importantly has the right attitude. His slkill and exceution was fantastic. Zampa was fantastic too. The strategy to send out Henriques at no.3 is something I have used at Sunrises and it came off well. The wicket was softish and it was English type of wicket. Hopefully the Hyderabad comes out and supports out.
October 10, 2017, 22:26:08 (IST)
Virat Kohli (Indian captain): Not the performance that we wished for. The Australians were better on the day. Any opportunities and they’ll pounce. The wicket was a bit sticky. The dew was going to be a big factor. I think we gave out best foot forward on the field. We just didn’t have enough on the board. When the situation is not in your favour, that’s when you need to give your 120 percent on the field. If you get the bat in hand, you need to do the same. I thought the ball to Rohit was pretty good. He (Behrendorff) bowled in good areas. Credit to him, he bowled a good spell. He definitely had a top-class performance today.

Brilliant batting by both Henriques and Head. They walked in when Australia had lost – Warner and Finch – the two batsmen who have hit their straps. Good thing they both remained unbeaten right till the end which will do wonders to their confidence. Australia’s middle order has been under the scanner throughout the series. Finally middle order has come good today as they had the answers against the spinners as well. So, in a span of 15 overs, Australia have ticked a lot of boxes which were left unanswered throughout the five ODIs and the one T20 in Ranchi.

But it was Behrendroff who set it up for the toursists, displayed great skill and heart to keep it full and swinging into the Indian batsmen. Terrific opening spell of 4/21.

A boundary to cap it off. Australia produced their most dominating performance at Guwahati to keep the series alive. The fans might have wanted a competitive game but Barsapara Cricket Stadium has hosted its first game without any hiccups.
October 10, 2017, 22:07:32 (IST)
This is the first match that India have lost after winning seven consecutive matches against Australia in T20Is. The last time before today, they lost against Australia was in 2012 at Colombo (RPS).

After 15.2 overs,Australia 122/2 ( Moises Henriques 62 , Travis Head 48)

Australia win by 8 wickets. Henriques with the winning hit. He desrves it. Thumps it down the ground Chahal  tries to grab it in an ugly way but his hands move only after the ball is half way down the ground. The series is 1-1 level with the decider to be played in Hyderabad in a couple of days time.

October 10, 2017, 22:05:29 (IST)

After 15 overs,Australia 115/2 ( Moises Henriques 56 , Travis Head 47)

Those two sixes off the 2nd and 3rd ball puts the game into bed in case there were few optimistic hopes that were still alive. Moises has applied himself wonderfully and ably supported by Head. 17 runs off Kuldeep’s final over the match. He finishes with 46 off his 4 overs.

Maxwell at 3 didn’t work and Henriques has showed why he deserves that spot with a matured fifty. The spectators are leaving the stadium early to avoid traffic.

FIFTY! Kuldeep goes short and Moises goes after this one too. This time over midwicket. Back-to-back sixes.
October 10, 2017, 22:02:15 (IST)
SIX! Henriques brings up 100 for Australia with a six over long off boundary. It was full ball and Moises gets underneath to just evade Rohit Sharma at long off.
October 10, 2017, 22:00:38 (IST)

After 14 overs,Australia 97/2 ( Moises Henriques 41 , Travis Head 45)

Chahal tosses up the first ball and Head tries to go inside out, he has gone across the line throughout the day but for the first time goes inside out, doesn’t time it but they run two. Head exchanges the strike of the 3rd ball and two more singles off the final two deliveries. 5 off the over.

October 10, 2017, 21:57:11 (IST)

After 13 overs,Australia 92/2 ( Moises Henriques 40 , Travis Head 41)

Kuldeep continues. He persists with the tossed up deliveries. Kuldeep fancies going across the wicket. Henriques takes a single to long off. Pandey should have stopped the single off the 4th ball giving away an easy single. Yadav induces an error off the final ball but it is out of Kohli’s reach who has stationed himself at first slip he was running backwards but couldn’t get to pouch it. 27 needed off 7 overs

October 10, 2017, 21:52:55 (IST)

After 12 overs,Australia 88/2 ( Moises Henriques 38 , Travis Head 39)

Both the batsmen are in some mood now. They have got in their eye in and now they are smashing around the park. India need wickets as runs are leaking left right and centre. Commendable performance by Head and Henriques.

October 10, 2017, 21:50:55 (IST)
SIX! Head is not holding himself back at all. It was flighted and he goes for it. Over long on.

Aussies coasting with their hard-hitter Henriques and Head laying it thick. Head playing some really powerful shots and getting a partnership going. Whether this will be a match-winning one remains to be seen. But odds certainly with Australia
October 10, 2017, 21:49:55 (IST)

After 11 overs,Australia 78/2 ( Moises Henriques 37 , Travis Head 30)

Kuldeep is not having the best of the days as both the batsmen are simply toying with him. Pounce on anything that is short, driven when he keeps it full

October 10, 2017, 21:49:25 (IST)
With Kuldeep and Hardik going for runs, Kohli might just bring Jadhav into the attack to change things up. He has to do something because at this stage Australia are running away with the game.
October 10, 2017, 21:46:58 (IST)
FOUR! Sheer power by Henriques there. Hammers it through the covers for 2nd boundary of the over.
October 10, 2017, 21:46:39 (IST)
FOUR! Head plays an air-borne stroke, it isn’t well contolled but it is in the gap and he earns a boundary
October 10, 2017, 21:46:09 (IST)
Henriques-Head stand has ensured that Australia can’t lose from here unless and until we witness a big collapse. It’s very difficult though as spinners are struggling to grip the ball.

After 10 overs,Australia 67/2 ( Moises Henriques 31 , Travis Head 25)

Chahal starts with a straight one and Henriques plays it off the backfoot. Looked very risky. Chahal continues to bowl the flatter trajectory and it worked well but Moises smartly guided the last ball to the third man boundary, using the pace of the bowler.

October 10, 2017, 21:44:01 (IST)
FOUR! Late cut exceuted to perfection. Henriques uses the pace of Chahal and picks a boundary to third man
October 10, 2017, 21:43:01 (IST)
Yuzvendra Chahal comes on to bowl the 10th over.
October 10, 2017, 21:42:15 (IST)

After 9 overs,Australia 61/2 ( Moises Henriques 26 , Travis Head 24)

Henriques walks across his stumps when Hardik is in his delivery stride, looking at it Hardik pulls back his length but Moises is up to the task and plays it around corner for a couple and follows it up with a boundary. Head does the same when he walks down the ground to smash it through mid wicket. Hardik’s short ball tactic isn’t working for him. Head went for a big swing on the final ball but missed it completely. Pandya shouted catch to Dhoni but there was no bat involved. Australia gather 11 runs.

October 10, 2017, 21:41:59 (IST)
FOUR! Head walks down the pitch and the short ball by Hardik is dealt well with, hits it through the mid wicket region.
October 10, 2017, 21:40:58 (IST)
Chahal is into the attack. Remember in January against England he triggered an England collapse and snared six wickets. He should try and emulate a similar performance. The intensity of the crowd has fallen after two expensive overs. A wicket would make them lively again.

FOUR! Pandya tries the bumper but was not very well directed. All Henriques had to do was to get some bat and direct it to fine leg fence, which he does.
October 10, 2017, 21:36:30 (IST)
Not the over Kuldeep would’ve wanted. Both Chahal and Kuldeep are often praised for not being afraid of conceding runs. But today they will have to keep a check on the run flow as well.
October 10, 2017, 21:35:38 (IST)

After 8 overs,Australia 50/2 ( Moises Henriques 19 , Travis Head 20)

Head pushes it down the ground for single off the first ball and then henriques smashes the next ball for a huge six. Kuldeep follows it up with a fuller ball and Henriques has no trouble pushing it for one to long on. Kuldeep bowls a couple floaters before dropping it short again allowing Head to pummel it through midwicket.

October 10, 2017, 21:33:37 (IST)
Henriques and Travis Head are big hitters. Head is underestimated but has struck big shots even for RCB. They will go after the spinners as target is small. Interesting contest on the cards
October 10, 2017, 21:33:12 (IST)
SIX! Poor by Yadav. Drops it short and Henriques jumps on it. Rocks back to slap it over mid wicket.
October 10, 2017, 21:32:38 (IST)
The six powerplay overs were sent down by India’s best two pace bowlers, Bhuvi & Bumrah. They plucked out a wicket apiece. Onus now on Hardik to continue the good work. A couple of wickets at this stage could push the Aussie back big time. Unfortunately the small total means India will have to be lucky all the time

Left arm wristspinner Kuldeep Yadav measures his run up. Here is the 22-year old bowling mystery that has frustrated the Aussies.
October 10, 2017, 21:31:16 (IST)

After 7 overs,Australia 36/2 ( Moises Henriques 12 , Travis Head 13)

Pandya starts with an absoulte peach. Just passes the outside edge of Henriques’ bat. He exchanges a singele with Head off the 3rd ball as Pandya changes his angle to the left-hander, goes round the wicket.Head punches the 5th ball for a single to mid on. Pandya ends his first over with just two runs.

October 10, 2017, 21:28:43 (IST)
Hardik Pandya comes in as the first change bowler
October 10, 2017, 21:28:25 (IST)
Bhuvi getting the ball to dart around superbly. He has already sent down 3 overs. Just one more over for him. Bhuvi after dismissing Finch beat Henriques repeatedly with super deliveries

Australia win by 8 wickets. Henriques with the winning hit. He deserves it. Thumps it down the ground while Chahal tries to grab it in an ugly way, but his hands move only after the ball is half way on its journey to fence. The series is 1-1 level with the decider to be played in Hyderabad in a couple of days time. Preview: Coming from a nine-wicket win, in-form India will look to continuing their domination of Australia and seal the three-match Twenty20 International (T20I) series at the Barsapara Cricket Stadium in Guwahati on Tuesday. India, who are ranked fifth, started the T20I series on a winning note outclassing the visitors in every department to register a nine-wicket victory via the Duckworth/Lewis method in a rain-marred match in Ranchi on Saturday. The hosts, who produced a brilliant all-round show in the previous match, will hope to deliver a similar performance here. [caption id=“attachment_4128983” align=“alignleft” width=“380”] Virat Kohli and David Warner, captain of India and Australia respectively. AP Virat Kohli and David Warner, captain of India and Australia respectively. AP[/caption] The batting department will largely be dependent on hard-hitting batsmen Rohit Sharma, skipper Virat Kohli, Mahendra Singh Dhoni and Hardik Pandya. Batsmen Shikhar Dhawan, Manish Pandey and Kedar Jadhav will only look to adding depth to the formidable India batting. Kohli might also fancy including veteran pacer Ashish Nehra in the team. Pacers Jasprit Bumrah and Bhuvneshwar Kumar will spearhead the bowling department for the hosts. Wrist spinners Yuzvendra Chahal and Kuldeep Yadav will look to provide brakes on the Australian batting which failed to look lethal in the previous match. However, the seventh-ranked Australian side will look to re-work on their strategies to get back to winning ways in the T20I series. Skipper David Warner along with Aaron Finch and Glenn Maxwell will be the key batsmen for the visitors to get them off to a flying start. The bowling will largely depend on pacer Nathan Coulter-Nile and spinner Adam Zampa, who failed to click in the last T20I. Squads: India: Virat Kohli (captain), Mahendra Singh Dhoni (wicket-keeper), Rohit Sharma, Shikhar Dhawan, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Manish Pandey, Kedar Jadhav, Yuzvendra Chahal, Kuldeep Yadav, Jasprit Bumrah, Hardik Pandya, Dinesh Karthik, Ashish Nehra, Lokesh Rahul, Axar Patel. Australia: David Warner (captain), Moises Henriques, Aaron Finch, Tim Paine (wicket-keeper), Daniel Christian, Glenn Maxwell, Jason Behrendorff, Nathan Coulter-Nile, Travis Head, Adam Zampa, Andrew Tye, Kane Richardson.
