When in India vs Pakistan in Champions Trophy 2025?

Sources say that India will play against Pakistan at a neutral venue on 23 February 2025. The India vs Pakistan match in the Champions Trophy 2025 will most likely take place in Colombo or Dubai. “India will take on Pakistan at a neutral venue on February 23, 2025. ICC looking at Colombo and Dubai to host their matches,” sources told news agency IANS on Thursday.

As per the draft schedule for the Champions Trophy 2025, which was leaked in the media earlier, the tournament will run from 19 February to 9 March across three stadiums in Pakistan. Rawalpindi, Karachi, and Lahore will host the matches in Pakistan, while, as per the new arrangement, India will play their matches at a neutral venue.

The Champions Trophy 2025 will include eight teams – Pakistan, India, Afghanistan, Australia, Bangladesh, England, New Zealand, and South Africa– divided into two groups of four sides each. The top two teams from each group will qualify for the semi-final.

“It is good that we got some clarity on the Champions Trophy, and also the future ICC tournaments. That will be helpful for all the stakeholders, cricket boards, and the broadcasters,” IPL chairman Arun Dhumal said to IANS, welcoming ICC’s decision to settle for a hybrid model for ICC events in Pakistan and India.

Hybrid model for ICC events explained

As per the new arrangement, Pakistan teams will not travel to India for the ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup 2025 (hosted by India) and the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026 (hosted by India and Sri Lanka).

India and Pakistan don’t play bilateral matches due to poor political relations between the bitter rivals. Their last bilateral series was in 2012-13.

India-Pakistan matches now only take place in ICC events.
