India and Bangladesh have faced off only once in Champions Trophy history, with India dominating the head-to-head record. As they gear up for their Champions Trophy 2025 clash on 20 February in Dubai, here’s a look at their ODI rivalry, past encounters, and key stats.

The India vs Bangladesh ODI rivalry has been one of the most intriguing in modern-day cricket. While India have historically dominated the head-to-head record, Bangladesh have shown flashes of brilliance, particularly in recent years. However, when it comes to the ICC tournaments, the two teams have crossed paths on very few occasions, and India have been dominant in most of those games.

As India and Bangladesh get ready for their ICC Champions Trophy 2025 clash, check out their head-to-head stats in ODI cricket.

India vs Bangladesh: The only Champions Trophy encounter

Despite their 37-year rivalry, India and Bangladesh have met only once in Champions Trophy history. Their clash came in the semi-finals of the 2017 edition in Birmingham, where India put on a dominant display to reach the final.

Bangladesh batted first and posted 264/7, with Tamim Iqbal (70) and Mushfiqur Rahim (61) playing key roles. However, India’s chase was effortless, thanks to Rohit Sharma’s unbeaten 123 and Virat Kohli’s 96 not out. The duo stitched together a 178-run second-wicket stand, helping India chase the target with nine wickets in hand and nearly 10 overs to spare.

India vs Bangladesh: The Tigers’ only ICC win against Men in Blue 

While India have historically dominated the rivalry, Bangladesh have pulled off some notable upsets. Their most famous victory came in the 2007 Cricket World Cup, where they stunned India with a five-wicket win, leading to India’s early exit from the tournament. India still consider it as one of the darkest days in their cricket history.

India and Bangladesh are all set to kick start their ICC Champions Trophy 2025 campaign with a match on 20 February . The game is scheduled to be held at Dubai International Cricket Stadium, starting at 2:30 PM IST.
