Team India will look to double their lead in the five-match Test series against Australia when the two teams lock horns in the second Test at the Adelaide Oval that starts from Friday (6 December). The Test will be a Day-Night affair and will be played with pink balls. India, led by Jasprit Bumrah, had won the first Test at Perth’s Optus Stadium by 295 runs . India were missing regular captain Rohit Sharma in Perth after he decided to skip the series opener following the birth of his second child.
India made a successful recovery after they were bowled out for 150 in the first innings. Jasprit Bumrah picked up eight wickets across both innings, including a five-wicket haul in the first. Virat Kohli and Yashasvi Jaiswal scored centuries in the second innings , whereas KL Rahul scored 77, with the trio setting up the platform for India’s victory. Australia were set a target of 534 after India declared their second innings at 487/6.
Australia’s top-order batters collapsed quickly and despite Travis Head’s knock of 89, the hosts were running out of options in the end before being bowled out for 238.
