Indian cricket star Rohit Sharma has once again caught fans’ attention, but this time off the field. While training ahead of the ODI series against New Zealand, the former India captain politely rejected a fan’s offer of the popular Mumbai snack vada pav, which many use to tease him about his physique.
Rohit, who recently played two matches for Mumbai in the Vijay Hazare Trophy 2025-26, has been focused on his fitness as he gets ready for the ODIs against the Kiwis starting Sunday. Ahead of the first match, Rohit took to the nets to practice, with fans coming to see him at the ground.

In a video that is now going viral on social media, Rohit was seen preparing for a training session when a fan shouted at him in Marathi, asking, “Rohit bhaiya, vadapav pahije ka?” (Rohit bhai, do you want a vada pav?). Rohit politely waved and said no, continuing with his prep.

The first ODI between India and New Zealand is scheduled to take place in Vadodara on January 11. Rohit is currently in Mumbai training for the match and is expected to fly out soon. He was last seen in action during Mumbai’s first two games in the Vijay Hazare Trophy last month.
Rohit scored a dazzling 155 in the first match against Sikkim in Jaipur but was dismissed for a duck in the second game against Uttarakhand. Prior to this, the 38-year-old played three ODIs against South Africa, where he scored two half-centuries. Rohit also featured in the ODI series against Australia in October, hitting a fifty and a century.
