Rohit Sharma continued his red-hot run with the bat on Wednesday as he smashed a 62-ball century during Mumbai’s opening game of the 2025-26 Vijay Hazare Trophy against Sikkim in Jaipur. Fellow superstar Virat Kohli continued his fine run with the bat as he brought up a half-century at the BCCI’s Centre of Excellence in Bengaluru during the Delhi vs Andhra fixture.

Rohit had recently struck a match-winning century against Australia in Sydney recently besides a couple of fifties against South Africa at home. And on Wednesday, he carried that rich vein of form over to the domestic circuit as well in his first appearance in India’s premier domestic List A competition since 2018, putting four-time champions Mumbai in an ideal position to begin their campaign on a winning note.
Rohit, Kohli carry on from where they left off
Rohit, after all, was off to a flying start after Sikkim were restricted to 236/7 after opting to bat, opening his account with a boundary and collecting his first six in quick time as well. He would then relegate opening partner Angkrish Raghuvanshi to a supporting act during the whirlwind 141-run opening partnership that virtually extinguished Sikkim’s hopes of a victory.
Kohli, on the other hand, was a lot more sedate in his 113-run second-wicket partnership with Priyansh Arya, letting his young partner attack the opposition bowlers at will, the two steadying the ship for Delhi after they lost an early wicket after being set a challenging 299 to win.
The 37-year-old would then assume charge after Arya was dismissed for 74 off 44 balls, hoping to ace another chase and help Delhi begin on a winning note.
