Rinku Singh’s father dies after cancer battle
Rinku Singh’s father was on a ventilator support recently due to his worsening health conditions. According to reports, the cancer cells had spread to other parts of his body. Stage 4 live cancer is the most advanced stage of cancer, during which curing the disease is extremely difficult.
Medication can help reduce the pain and slow the progression of cancerous cells. But unfortunately, despite treatment, Khanchandra was not able to survive the disease.
Rinku was part of the Indian squad in Chennai during the match against Zimbabwe on Thursday in the T20 World Cup 2026. He had left the team before the Zimbabwe match, but rejoined them before the do-or-die clash. Rinku is now expected to take a break from the national duty and join his family during the bereavement.
His participation in India’s final Super 8 match against West Indies, which will be played in Kolkata on Sunday, is also in doubt. The winner of the India vs West Indies match will advance to the semi-finals.
