Smith mistimed a pull shot off a short ball from Prasidh Krishna, sending it toward deep square leg. Jadeja took the catch right near the rope but realised he was going over. He tossed the ball mid-air to Sudharsan, who was perfectly positioned to complete the catch just inside the boundary.

With this, India got the much-needed breakthrough before the new ball was taken. England continued their strong batting performance on Day 3, reaching 327/5 at lunch. The home team is still trailing India’s first-innings total but not far behind.

Harry Brook is firmly holding one end together and continuing to score freely, keeping England in control. He has been joined by Chris Woakes, who is off the mark but is batting cautiously at the moment.

Jasprit Bumrah is yet to pick up a wicket on Day 3. The only breakthroughs so far have come from Prasidh Krishna and Mohammed Siraj.
