Brook brings up the fifty partnership by running three in the fourth delivery of the final over of the session. End of a good session for the hosts in which they scored 118 runs in 28 overs at over four-an-over. Bumrah didn’t have much success in the morning session, conceding 19 runs in six overs.

Prasidh Krishna and Mohammed Siraj, however, rose to the occasion by getting rid of Ollie Pope and Ben Stokes – the latter in his second over of the day. Harry Brook was dismissed off Jasprit Bumrah’s bowling shortly before stumps on Day 2, but was handed a lifeline with the latter having overstepped for the third time in the same over. Brook’s made the most of the second chance since then, collecting seven fours and a six en route to his 12th Test half-century.
