India and Australia go head to head again in the fourth T20I of the five-match series as both teams aim to take lead after the visitors bounced back in the third game to draw the series level at 1-1.
Arshdeep Singh led the way with the ball, picking up three wickets to force Australia to settle for a below-par 188/6 in the third T20I. Washington Sundar then hit a crucial 49 not out in only 23 deliveries to take India over the victory line comfortably. India won the match by five wickets to make the series 1-1.
Earlier, after the series opener was washed out, Australia dismantled the Indian batting line-up in the second T20I to register a thumping four-wicket win with 46 balls remaining. Josh Hazlewood was the destructor-in-chief as his spell of 3/13 overshadowed Abhishek Sharma’s fighting half-century.
Action now moves to the Gold Coast where both sides will clash in the fourth T20I with the winning team ensuring an unassailable 2-1 lead.
Australia will be boosted by the return of Glenn Maxwell even as Travis Head has left the squad for Sheffield Shield duties.
Suryakumar Yadav changed the playing combination in the third game, and it worked in India’s favour. It remains to be seen whether he would go in with the same team or recall the players dropped in the third match.
