All-rounder Marco Jansen looked all set to get his maiden Test century before he played a Kuldeep Yadav delivery back on to his stumps at the score of 93 on the second day of the second Test between India and South Africa at the Barsapara Stadium in Guwahati. Even as he could not get to a well-deserved ton, his hard-hitting was enough for him to break records of legends like Viv Richards and Matthew Hayden.

Before his dismissal, the 25-year-old looked in full command as he took the Indian bowlers to the cleaners with his long reach and clean hitting.
The young all-rounder came into bat when South Africa had lost their seventh wicket at 334 and India were looking to make a comeback into the game. However, he dashed India’s hopes as he launched a couple of sixes off both Ravindra Jadeja and Kuldeep Yadav.
Jansen reached his half-century in just 53 deliveries and kept going big. Rishabh Pant put fielders on the fence and yet the right-hander kept finding boundaries. He hit a total of seven sixes in his innings, the most by a visiting batter against India in India.
He broke the record of Richards and Hayden who had previously hit six maximums in their innings in 1974 and 2001 respectively.
He also drew level with Shahid Afridi for most sixes in a Test innings against India.
