Kuldeep Yadav produced a magical delivery on his return to the Indian ODI side to dismiss Mitchell Starc, giving a glimpse of what India were missing in the first two matches against Australia. Having already lost the three-match ODI series after suffering defeats in the first two matches, left-arm wrist-spinner Kuldeep finally got an opportunity on the tour in the last game at Sydney on Saturday.

It took a while for Kuldeep to get his first wicket, but the quality of the delivery showed the threat he poses on any surface with his subtle variations and deceiving deliveries. Unlike his stock ball, Kuldeep went fast on wicket-taking delivery, bowling at 80.6kph.
Kuldeep dismisses Starc with magic delivery
The flighted delivery landed on good length, skidded off the deck to beat Starc’s defence and broke the stumps. Kuldeep was delighted with his first wicket and must have been relieved as well.

He could have got a wicket in his sixth over when Alex Carey mistimed a sweep shot to long-on, but fielder Prasidh Krishna failed to hold onto it after making a forward dive.
There was also a massive appeal in Kuldeep’s second over when Rahul forced captain Shubman Gill to upstairs for a caught behind appeal against Matthew Short. The batter attempted a slogsweep on an outside off ball, but missed it completely.
Impact Shorts
More ShortsRahul was confident that there was an edge; however, replays showed a flat line, and India lost a review.
Kuldeep completed his full quota by giving away 50 runs in 10 overs for one wicket, but his bowling had been a lot better than the numbers. With flighted and tossed up deliveries, the Kanpur spinner often tested the Aussie batters.
Besides Kuldeep, Harshit Rana and Washington Sundar took two wickets each, while Mohammed Siraj, Axar Patel, and Krishna also added one respectively to put Australia in a spot of bother.
