The IPL 2026 mini auction was held in Abu Dhabi on Tuesday, December 16, and it produced several big-money signings. Franchises did not hesitate to spend heavily, both on established stars and on uncapped Indian players who impressed in domestic cricket.
The biggest buy of the auction was Australian all-rounder Cameron Green, who was snapped up by Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) for a massive Rs 25.20 crore. Green once again proved his value, becoming the most expensive overseas player of IPL history. KKR were also aggressive in signing Sri Lanka pacer Matheesha Pathirana for Rs 18 crore.
Chennai Super Kings (CSK) made history by spending Rs 14.20 crore each on two uncapped Indian players - Kartik Sharma and Prashant Veer. The duo became the joint-most expensive uncapped players in IPL history.
Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) secured England all-rounder Liam Livingstone for Rs 13 crore, while KKR added Bangladesh left-arm pacer Mustafizur Rahman for Rs 9.20 crore to strengthen their bowling attack.
