Indian Premier League 2026 auction will take place on December 15 in India with the deadline to announce the list of retained players being November 15.
The Times of India on Sunday reported that it is likely that the auction for the 2026 edition of IPL will take place in India itself as opposed to the last two seasons. IPL auctions for 2025 and 2024 editions had taken place in Jeddah and Dubai respectively.
However, the report also mentions that a final decision is yet to be made.
IPL 2026 trade talks
Cricbuzz reported earlier on Sunday that Rajasthan Royals and Chennai Super Kings are seriously pursuing a big-ticket trade. Sanju Samson could go to CSK while Ravindra Jadeja might come to RR but the Jaipur-based franchise also wants Dewald Brevis alongside the Indian all-rounder. This is reportedly proving to be a sticking point in the talks.
Also, contrary to rumours, Cricbuzz report states that Ishan Kishan and Heinrich Klaasen will both be retained by SunRisers Hyderabad.
