The deadline for the verdict in Vinesh Phogat’s appeal for joint silver at Paris Olympics 2024 has been extended to 16 August by the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) and this has led to multiple reactions including that from the Wrestling Federation of India (WFI) President Sanjay Singh who has blamed the wrestler for failing the weigh-in. He also blamed the wrestlers’ protest for India winning just one medal at the Paris Olympics.
Hockey India are hosting an event in Delhi today to felicitate legendary goalkeeper PR Sreejesh who retired after the Indian men’s hockey team won bronze at the Paris Olympics.
