India will aim to wrap up the series when they meet New Zealand in the third T20I on Sunday, January 25 at the Barsapara Cricket Stadium in Guwahati. With wins in the first two matches, India are already 2-0 up in the series.
India have totally dominated New Zealand in the first two games so far. Abhishek Sharma starred in the series opener to help India win by 48 runs. Ishan Kishan and Suryakumar Yadav then played stunning knocks to lead India to an outstanding seven-wicket win in the second match.
India are likely to bring back Jasprit Bumrah into the playing XI to further boost their side while Axar Patel’s fitness still remains under doubt.
New Zealand’s batting and bowling has failed so far in the series and they would be eager to turn things around, especially with the T20 World Cup just around the corner. They are still missing a few of their first choice players but they would need more from the existing names if they have put on a competitive performance in the third match.
Guwahati weather forecast
Around the time of the match, the temperature will drop to around 13 degrees Celsius. There are no chances of rain but dew can once again be expected to play a major role in the game. The team winning the toss will likely choose to bowl first.
Barsapara Stadium pitch report
The pitch in Guwahati is expected to be another flat surface that will aid stroke-making and the fans can hope for a flurry of sixes. The last two T20Is at this venue both saw scores well in excess of 200 and the same trend could continue in the third T20I. However, in IPL 2025 when Rajasthan Royals played twice at this venue, 200 could not be breached. So, it could throw a surprise as well.
