India captain Shubman Gill was at the receiving end on Day 4 of the ongoing Lord’s Test as tension continues to rise among the players. While there had to be minor confrontations, the big controversy arrived on Day 3 of the third Test between India and England as Zak Crawley tried to waste time in the dying minutes of play.

On Day 4, it was Gill’s turn to face the heat as he walked out to bat during the 15th over of India’s chase. India were handed a target of 193 by England after the bowlers brought an end to the home team’s innings for just 192.
The Indian chase got off to a poor start as Yashasvi Jaiswal fell for a duck and Karun Nair was dismissed on 14. Gill also did not last long as he fell to Brydon Carse for just 6, but not before Duckett took a dig at him.
Moments before Gill was dismissed, Duckett was heard playing mind games with Gill as he remarked how the Indian captain is past his best form in the series. Gill has scored three centuries in the ongoing Test series against England, but Duckett said he wouldn’t be doing anything special anymore.
“600 runs and he’s done for the series,” Duckett was heard saying on the stump mic. He wasn’t wrong for the Lord’s Test as Gill was dismissed on just 6, soon after.
So far, Gill has scored 607 runs in six innings at an average of 101.17.
Coming back to the Lord’s Test. India still need 135 runs more to win the third Test against England. They ended Day 4 on 58/4 with Akash Deep falling to Ben Stokes as the last piece of action.
