Vaibhav Suryavanshi missed out on a hundred, but Mumbai wicketkeeper-batter Abhigyan Kundu did not have such a problem as he smashed a double century in just 121 balls against Malaysia in the ACC Men’s Under-19 Asia Cup 2025 at The Sevens Stadium, Dubai, on 16 December, Tuesday, just a few hours before the Indian Premier League (IPL) Auction 2026 . Meanwhile, Gujarat’s Vedant Trivedi scored a classy 90 off 106 balls before getting out to Jaashwin Krishnamurthi.
The Ayush Mhatre-led India U19 side has already qualified for the semi-finals by winning the first two group stage matches. Nonetheless, they would want to end the group stage with a hat-trick of wins. On Tuesday, India, who defeated UAE and Pakistan in the earlier Group A matches, were asked to bat first after Malaysia won the toss.

With the star batters back in the dugout, Vedant Trivedi and Abhigyan Kundu took the command. They added a 209-run partnership for the fourth wicket. Trivedi was dismissed in the 41st over, but Kundu continued his onslaught.
Kundu remained unbeaten on 209 from 125 balls with 17 fours and nine sixes as India posted a mammoth 408/7. Abhigyan Kundu can expect some big bids for himself in the IPL auction.
