“Feeling really good that I’m the Player of the Match in a World Cup match. People in my village would be proud. They’ve put on a big LED screen to watch the match. Didi (Harman) told me let’s remove one slip as the ball has gotten older but I asked her to keep it there (a catch was taken there). My coach just tells me normal things,” says the pacer after collecting the award in just her second World Cup match.

Harmanpreet makes the first bowling change of the innings as late as the 16th over, giving Kranti Goud a break after a marathon seven-over spell in which she struck twice while being miserly with conceding runs (7-2-12-2). Pervaiz, who is promoted up the batting order today, decides to shift gears against spin and collects the first boundary for Pakistan after 10 overs, dancing down the track and smashing the ball down the ground. This after Renuka fires the ball down leg that Sidra attempts to flick. Replays show a gap between bat and ball and UltraEdge confirms it, and there’s nothing on the possibility of an LBW either. Ghosh appeared interested this time, which is what convinced Harman to take it upstairs. This after India chose to ignore multiple unsuccessful LBW appeals in which the ball is found to be hitting the stump, with ball-tracking showing three reds in a couple of those cases. Amin opens her account with a boundary off Renuka in the final delivery of the fifth over, steering a length ball towards third man. That is followed by a streaky boundary off Kranti in the fourth delivery of the following over, Amin getting a thick outside edge that deflects off wicketkeeper Ghosh’s glove and runs all the way to the third man fence.

Amin also survives a couple of close LBW shouts in these two overs, and could possibly have been dismissed on both occasions. While the impact was ‘Umpire’s Call’ off Renuka’s bowling, ball-tracking showed three reds off Kranti’s bowling. The exaggerated movement is testing the batters at the moment. IND vs PAK LIVE Score, Women’s World Cup 2025: OUT! Muneeba Ali suffers a bizarre run-out as Pakistan lose an early wicket!

That was quite the dramatic final delivery in Kranti Goud’s second over. Not only did she appeal for LBW that was turned down, there was also a direct hit at the striker’s end that led to a faint run-out appeal. The TV umpire initially takes a look and rules it ‘Not Out’ after seeing Muneeba ground her bat behind the crease.

Just when the Indians get to their fielding positions and the fifth over is about to get underway, the third umpire decides to have another look, and this time notices that Muneeba had raised her bat right after grounding it, and it was in the air when the ball clipped the leg stumps off a direct hit by Deepti.

Pakistan captain Fatima Sana has an animated chat with one of the umpires on the sidelines as Muneeba makes her way to the pavilion. Muneeba, however, was out one way or another, with ball-tracking showing three reds for Kranti’s unsuccessful LBW appeal in the same delivery, with the ball shown to be hitting the middle of the middle stump. Renuka appeals for LBW again two balls later, this time against Sadaf Shamas, and the Indians decide against reviewing this time. IND vs PAK LIVE Score, Women’s World Cup 2025: Will 247 be enough for India as they aim to preserve their perfect record against Pakistan?

Jemimah Rodrigues said that the wicket for today’s game isn’t the easiest of surfaces to bat on, and 247 is a “fighting total”. Pakistan had been bowled out for 129 by Bangladesh at the same venue earlier this week, and will certainly have to produce a strong response with the bat if they are to defeat India for the first time ever in women’s ODIs.

The six off Fatima Sana proves to be a turning point, with 35 runs being scored in the next three overs. Kranti Goud also chips in with a couple of fours.

Deepti Sharma and Sneh Rana certainly did shift gears in the third powerplay after India failed to collect a single boundary for more than five overs at the end of the 40th over. And Rana perishes in her quest to give India a much-needed big over towards the end of the innings. IND 203/6 after 45

IND vs PAK LIVE Score, Women’s World Cup 2025: Deepti Sharma, Sneh Rana struggling to score as India reach 172/5 at the end of 40 overs

The boundaries have hardly come by for the Women in Blue in the last 10 overs, with not one being scored in the last 33 deliveries. Things certainly have slowed down for India since they lost two set batters in Harleen Deol and Jemimah Rodrigues in successive overs.

Deepti Sharma is at the centre right now with Sneh Rana for company. But the way the Indians batters have been going in the last five overs, getting to 250 appears a Herculean task from here.

Harmanpreet Kaur’s India are the firm favourites going into the World Cup match against Pakistan. India have never lost an ODI against Pakistan, winning all 11 matches so far in women’s cricket. They also won their opening match against Sri Lanka by 59 runs on 30 September.

Pak face daunting task vs India, but rain may provide help

Pakistan started their World Cup campaign with a seven-wicket loss to Bangladesh in Colombo and they would need to up their game by multiple notches to challenge India. They, however, would hope for some support from the weather gods.

The Australia vs Sri Lanka match at Colombo on Saturday was washed out. And there are high chances of rain during the India vs Pakistan game in Colombo. The predictions, however, don’t indicate a complete washout, but rain can change the complexion of the match to an extent if Pakistan are lucky.

India have an opportunity to top the points table with a win against Pakistan. Currently, they are in fourth with two points from one match, while Pakistan are yet to open their account. The top four sides from the eight-team points table would qualify for the semi-finals.

Having never won the tournament, India is hoping to win their first Women’s World Cup as hosts. They have been forced to play against Pakistan in a neutral country as per the agreement reached between the cricketing boards for ICC events.

The ICC, BCCI and PCB agreed before the Champions Trophy 2025 that both teams would play at neutral venues during ICC events hosted by either of them till 2026.
