Rohit out for duck on Friday; Kohli slams 77

Thousands turned up at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium in Jaipur on Friday as well to catch Rohit’s batting, but the former India captain got out for a duck as he was caught at fine leg, trying to pull the first ball he faced from Uttarakhand’s Devendra Singh Bora.

Kohli had no such issue as he picked up from where he left off the other day, playing a swift knock, laced with multiple boundaries. He was on 77 from 60 balls with 13 fours and on six, when Urvil Patel effected a stumping off Vishal Jayswal to remove the former India captain.

In the same game, Delhi captain Rishabh Pant scored 70 off 79 balls as Delhi posted 254/9 in 50 overs after being asked to bat first.

Mumbai made a mammoth 331/7 vs Uttarakhand despite Rohit falling for a duck. Hardik Tamore made 93 not out in 82 balls, while Musher Khan and his elder brother Sarfaraz Khan made 55 each.

Rohit and Kohli are playing in the List A Vijay Hazare Trophy after many years. Kohli’s last appearance was in 2010, while Rohit last played in the tournament in 2018.
