India will face New Zealand in their final group-stage match of the Champions Trophy 2025, with their semi-final opponent depending on the result. Check out India’s possible semi-final scenarios and how the tournament schedule will unfold.

India are all set to play their final group-stage match of the ICC Champions Trophy 2025 against New Zealand on Sunday. The highly-anticipated clash will not only decide the Group A standings but also determine their semi-final opponents. India’s semi-final venue will be Dubai, which had already been confirmed even before the tournament started. The Kiwis will play their semi-final match in Lahore.

With both teams already qualified for the knockout stage, the focus now shifts to whether India can finish as group winners or will settle for second place. Here are India’s semi-final scenarios depending on the result against New Zealand.

If India beat New Zealand

A victory over New Zealand will ensure that India finish at the top of the group, setting up a semi-final clash against Australia in Dubai. Meanwhile, New Zealand, finishing second in the group, will face South Africa in Lahore.

If India lose to New Zealand, they will finish second in the Group A standings. As a result, they will face South Africa in Dubai, while New Zealand, as group toppers, will take on Australia in Lahore.

Semi-Final 2: New Zealand vs Australia in Lahore (5 March)

Group B standings are already finalised, with South Africa securing the top spot with five points after their dominant victory over England on Saturday. They began their campaign with a win against Afghanistan in Karachi before their clash with Australia ended in a washout, resulting in both teams sharing a point.

Australia finished second in the group with four points, as rain washed out their last two group-stage matches, earning them a point each. Their only completed match was against arch-rivals England, where they claimed a crucial two points.

But the final semi-final matchups and venues will only be determined after India’s clash with New Zealand, as India are set to play in Dubai regardless of their group position. This means that one of these teams will have to fly back to Lahore with New Zealand for their semi-final game.

The final of the ongoing Champions Trophy 2025 is scheduled to be played in either Dubai or Lahore depending on India’s result. If India win their semi-final clash, the final will be played in Dubai, if they lose, the summit clash will be held in Lahore, Pakistan.
