Captain Mhatre, coach Kanitkar to be quizzed by BCCI
According to Cricbuzz, the Indian board has decided to undertaker a review into the Indian U-19 team’s performance at the recent Asia Cup, the decision being taken during the Apex Council Meeting on Monday. The report also suggests that the BCCI might look into allegations of unsportsmanlike conduct by some of the Indian players during the final, with Mhatre and Suryavanshi having engaged in a war of words with Pakistani players after getting dismissed by Ali Raza.
The Pakistanis posted a mammoth 347/8 on the board after skipper Mhatre won the toss and opted to field, thanks to a fiery 172 by in-form opener Sameer Minhas. The highly-rated batting order later crumbled during the chase despite star batter Vaibhav Suryavanshi’s fiery start, getting bundled out for just 156 in reply.
