However, due to heavy crowd congestion, a stampede broke out, resulting in the death of at least 11 people and leaving several others injured. In a statement to ANI, Rajeev Shukla said that the government had already cancelled the roadshow to avoid any crowd-related incidents, but the stampede near the stadium was not expected. He urged everyone to come together and do the damage control.

The RCB celebration had begun earlier in the day with the team being felicitated by Karnataka CM Siddaramaiah and deputy CM DK Shivakumar at Vidhana Soudha. The team later headed to Chinnaswamy Stadium to celebrate with fans. RCB captain Rajat Patidar and legend Virat Kohli spoke to the crowd at the stadium before taking a lap around the ground for fans to see the trophy.
