The Asia Cup Rising Stars, the revamped version of the Asia Cup Emerging Teams, begins Friday, November 14 with eight teams participating in the tournament. Some of the best young talent in the world will be in action with Vaibhav Suryavanshi set to be the biggest star attraction in the tournament.
Afghanistan won the last edition of the tournament but with a strong Indian squad named, the Afghans will have a tough time trying to retain their crown.
Ahead of the Asia Cup Rising Stars 2025, here is all you need to know about the tournament featuring the top talent of the continent.
Asia Cup Rising Stars rebranding
The Emerging Teams Asia Cup has been rebranded into Asia Cup Rising Stars. The five Test nations of Asia — India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh and Afghanistan — will participate with their A teams while Associate nations — Hong Kong, Oman, United Arab Emirates (UAE) — can bring in their international sides.
This has been done to ensure better competition and give the associate teams more opportunities.
Asia Cup Rising Stars format
Eight teams have been divided into two groups of four sides each. Every team plays the other three teams in their group once and the best two sides qualify for the semifinal.
The winner of the two groups play the runners-up of the other group in the semifinal. The winners in the semifinals then collide in the final for the trophy.
The tournament will be a T20 event.
