India pacer Arshdeep Singh brought smiles to everyone’s faces with a cheeky take on Mohammed Siraj’s now-famous “I believe on Jassi bhai” line. In a fun moment caught on camera after Day 3 of the second Test between India and England, Arshdeep jokingly modified Siraj’s catchphrase, adding a humorous twist that left fans laughing.
Arshdeep Singh mocks Siraj
Siraj picked up a six-wicket haul in the first innings of the ongoing second Test at Edgbaston, helping India bowl England out for 407 runs. After the end of the day’s play, Siraj took part in an interview session with fellow pacer Akash Deep, which took four wickets in the innings. However, Arshdeep interrupted the chat and playfully mocked Siraj for his viral comment from the T20 World Cup 2024.
“Bhai, dialogue change. I only believe in myself and Jassi bhai. Aaj se dialogue change hai. Plan mein halka sa change hai — I believe in myself and Jassi bhai!” Arshdeep said, with a big smile, while mimicking Siraj.
The original line came from Siraj during the post-match interview from the T20 World Cup final, where he had praised Jasprit Bumrah, calling him a “game-changer player.” Siraj had said, “I only believe on Jassi bhai, because game-changer player he is, only one guy — Jasprit Bumrah.” That line became an instant hit on social media, with memes and reels mocking Siraj.
Arshdeep’s playful take on it has now added a new layer to the joke. Even Siraj couldn’t control his laughter when Arshdeep made the joke during the interview on Friday. The video is now going viral on social media and the BCCI’s official website.
Meanwhile, India finished with a lead of 244 runs after ending on 64/1 on Day 3. Earlier, India posted 587 runs in the first innings thanks to a double-century from captain Shubman Gill. Ravindra Jadeja and Yashasvi Jaiswal also contributed to the total with 80 odd runs each. India then bowled out England for 407 runs, with Siraj taking 6/70 and Akash Deep 4/88.
India will look to post over 400 runs as a target in the second innings, while England would hope to bowl them out by the end of day so they have enough time and not too many runs to chase in the final innings.
