It is set to be a busy Monday with several events lined up for the day.
Firstly, after a terrible week with hundreds of flights cancelled and delayed, India’s IndiGo Airlines reportedly informed the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) that it will cut flights from today to reduce ongoing disruption. It also said that the Airline expects full restoration of stable operations by February 10, 2026.
Several parts of Mumbai will face 15 per cent water cuts, announced by the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC).

Zelenskyy to visit Downing Street to discuss Ukraine deal
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy will visit Downing Street today. He will meet with UK PM Keir Starmer, French President Emmanuel Macron, and German Chancellor Friedrich Merz in a show of support for Ukraine.
They will discuss the ongoing talks between US and Ukrainian officials to end the war.
Nearly two weeks ago, the four leaders held a virtual meeting of the “coalition of the willing” convened by Starmer and Macron to provide a European peacekeeping force that can be deployed to Ukraine in the event of a ceasefire.
IndiGo to scale down flights
Following the chaos that unfolded last week, IndiGo reportedly informed the aviation watchdog, the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA), that it will cut flights from today to reduce ongoing disruptions and aims to restore stable operations by February 10, 2026.
This comes after hundreds of flights were cancelled and delayed, leaving passengers stranded. They have offered an apology for the situation and said they are working to fix the “operational challenges”.
Last week on Thursday, hundreds of flights were cancelled, around 200 were called off on Wednesday and Tuesday.
On Friday, over 100 flights were cancelled in Mumbai and Bengaluru and dozens of flights were called off in Hyderabad, Kolkata, Chennai, and Goa.
However, the aviation watchdog, the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA), has launched an investigation into the matter and questioned the airline.
Mumbai to face water cut today
The financial capital of India will face a water cut in several parts due to repair work today and tomorrow, the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) announced.
The water supply will be disrupted from 10:00 am today to 10:00 am tomorrow, December 9, Tuesday.
It was earlier planned for December 3 and 4, but the civic body postponed it. “The old pipeline needs to be removed and a new one installed, a task requiring at least 24 hours of continuous work,” said BMC engineers.

Describing the date, “a defining moment”, President Ahmed al-Sharaa has called for nationwide celebrations.

The 83rd annual Golden Globe Awards nominations will be announced today. Marlon Wayans and Skye P. Marshall will present it.
All 28 categories will be unveiled today. Viewers can also stream the announcement live on the CBS News YouTube channel.
