If the year 2024 had to be described in short, it could be called the year of elections. More than 60 countries, with a population of more than four billion people, will go to the polls this year, making this year’s democracy’s biggest test till date. Elections will be held in the United States, India, Indonesia, Russia, Pakistan, and South Africa to name just a few. The European Union will also go to the polls. Notably just half way through the first month of the year and we have already seen two elections — one in Bangladesh and the other in Taiwan .
