While Coastal residents are being evacuated, with over 900 fishing vessels shepherded to safety.
First hearing for Tetsuya Yamagami
The first hearing for Tetsuya Yamagami, accused of the 2022 assassination of former Prime Minister Shinzo Abe, is scheduled to take place today. The 45-year-old faces charges of murder and violating firearm laws for the shooting that occurred while Abe was giving a campaign speech in Nara. The trial will be held at the Nara District Court.
