Erika Krik, the widow of rightwing activist and influencer Charlie Kirk, has been in the spotlight since her husband’s assassination. She’s often the subject of rumours and conspiracy theories. The latest is the speculation around her pregnancy.
So, is Erika Kirk eight weeks pregnant? We do a fact-check.
What did Erika Krik say about pregnancy?
During an interview with Megyn Kelly on SiriusXM, Erika Kirk, who has emerged as an influential conservative voice after her husband’s death, spoke about pregnancy but did not announce one.
The 36-year-old CEO of Turning Point USA, a right-wing student organisation started by her husband, expressed her desire to have a third child when Charlie Kirk was shot at Utah Valley University, as it would have felt like a “blessing”. “I was praying to God that I was pregnant when he got murdered,” she hoped. “… I was like, ‘Oh goodness, that would be the ultimate blessing out of this catastrophe.’”
When asked on The Megyn Kelly Show, how many kids she and Charlie wanted to have, she replied, “We aimed to have four… We were really excited to just expand our family.”
The couple has two children, a three-year-old girl and a one-year-old boy.
Erika Kirk also called on people not to delay having babies. “So now when I see young couples, I tell them please, don’t put it off. Especially if you’re a young woman,” she said.
“You can always have a career. You can always go back to work,” she advised. “You can never just go back to having children, and they grow so fast and so quickly.”
So then what sparked Erika Kirk’s pregnancy rumours?
Like many fake news stories, it started with a social media post, which was widely shared on social media.
An online sleuth even noted that Charlie Kirk was killed 10 weeks ago, questioning the timeline of the pregnancy. The X post further insinuated that “child” is not Charlie’s.

All these claims are unverified and incorrect. They are just another addition to the rumours surrounding Erika Kirk, including about an “affair” with US Vice President JD Vance.
What has Erika said about her romance rumours with Vance?
The rumours started with a now-viral hug during a Turning Point USA event at the University of Mississippi. Erika Kirk embraced Vance, after which pictures and reels circulating online drew scrutiny, especially the way she touched the back of the veep’s head and how he held her by the waist.
Now, the former beauty queen has slammed those questioning her emotional moment with Vance, adding that those attacking her “probably need a hug themselves”.
On The Megyn Kelly Show, the host asked her, “Did you see the people who didn’t understand the hug that you and JD had? They went to the weirdest places.”
Erika Kirk laughed and rolled her eyes. “Oh my gosh, please! Anyone who knows me knows… I hug," she said. “And those hating on a hug probably need a hug themselves. I’ll give you a free hug anytime. My love language is touch.”
She described her situation play-by-play. The Turning Point USA head said that she was crying and emotional. “I’m walking over, he’s walking over. I’m starting to cry. He says he’s so proud of you. And I say, God bless you. And I touch the back of his head.”
“Anyone whom I have hugged, I have touched the back of your head when I hug you, I always say, God bless you. That’s just me. If you want to take that out of context, go right ahead again. That, to me, shows that you need a hug more than anyone else," she clarified.
She even called it “non-romantic”, and it’s just her way of showing love.
In the same interview, Erika Kirk also said that she carried no anger toward Tyler Robinson, the key accused the the assassination of Charlie Kirk, adding that anger would distract her from raising her kids. During the September 21 memorial for her husband, she announced that she had pardoned her husband’s shooter.
