The Epstein Files saga continues. On Friday (January 30), the US Department of Justice released more than three million pages of files related to the investigation into convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein.
The new batch of files include some old names such as Britain’s Andrew, the former prince, Microsoft founder Bill Gates and US President Donald Trump. However, some new names such as Elon Musk, the world’s richest man, and US Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick also featured in the files released last week.
Later, Deputy Attorney General Todd Blanche said at a news conference that the Justice Department has now completed its review of the files and that the White House had “no oversight” of the process.
Here are what the files showed about several of these men.
Epstein Files and Trump
There are over 1,000 mentions of US President Donald Trump in the three million Jeffrey Epstein documents released last week. Among the many mentions of the American leader in the files is the summary that that officials at the Federal Bureau of Investigation assembled last summer of more than a dozen tips from the public involving Trump and Epstein.
It’s not clear why the FBI officials created the list of allegations related to Trump last year.
Trump has once again denied any wrongdoing in connection with Epstein. In response to a request for comment, the White House referred to a public statement from the Justice Department, which said that Friday’s documents “may include fake or falsely submitted images, documents or videos.”
Britain’s Andrew finds himself in more trouble
Already facing trouble for being embroiled in the Epstein scandal — he has been stripped of his title and royal lodging — former Prince Andrew has once again found himself at the centre of the Epstein files.
Multiple photographs of the former prince have been released with him being seen crouching over on all fours over a woman lying on the floor. In two of the photos, he is seen touching a clothed woman’s waist and stomach, and in the third image, he is directly looking into the camera. The woman’s face has been blurred. However, no context is provided for the images, and it is unclear where and when they were taken.
There are also multiple emails between Andrew and Epstein which have been released. In one, Andrew writes to Epstein, “This week is all about me. Time to put something back into me before the rest of the world starts sucking it out in all their greed and demands.”
From the correspondence, it appears Andrew is thanking Epstein for the help that the financier provided to sort out a problem for his ex-wife Sarah, over unpaid wages. He added he was about to go into his “annual retreat for the next eight days”.
There are also mails between Epstein and a person named “The Duke” — believed to be Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor — discussing having dinner at Buckingham Palace, where there was “lots of privacy”.
Another message from Epstein includes an offer to introduce “The Duke” to a 26-year-old Russian woman.
Andrew also shared photographs of his daughters with Jeffrey Epstein several years after the financier’s 2008 conviction for sex offences. The emails date back to 2010 and 2011 and contain images of Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie. One shows Princess Beatrice during a climb of Mont Blanc, while another shows Princess Eugenie taking part in a charity cycling event.
These revelations are most likely to become a bigger headache for Andrew, as they contradict his previous claims that he had cut ties with Epstein following the financier’s conviction in 2008.
‘Hung like a horse’ message to Clinton
The latest release of the Epstein files also reveals how the disgraced financier and his long-time associate, Ghislaine Maxwell, communicated with former US President Bill Clinton.
These files include frequent communication between Maxwell and Clinton staffers between the period of 2001 and 2004. In one email from April 2003, Maxwell wrote to a redacted Clinton office mail address: “Glad you are coming to the dinner — JE says do you think Clinton would like to come - let me know.”
One of the emails from Maxwell to a Clinton staffer also said that that she told a tabloid what “supper stud you are and how I have a crush on you and how you are hung like a horse and- well you get the picture. Hope you don’t mind!”
It’s unclear whether Maxwell was writing to Clinton or an aide who used the ex-president’s account. Clinton spokesman Angel Urena told CNN that Bill Clinton did not send any of the emails in the Epstein files. “I can’t confirm whose it was, I can only tell you whose it wasn’t: Bill Clinton’s,” Urena said. “I’d say he has never emailed but in truth he has done so twice in his life, both as President. Once to former astronaut and Senator John Glenn while he was orbiting the Earth aboard the Space Shuttle Discovery, and another to the US troops serving in the Adriatic.”
The timing of these revelations are significant. It comes before an expected House contempt vote against the Clintons after they defied subpoenas from the Republican-led House Oversight panel.
Elon Musk
Even the world’s richest man, Elon Musk, found himself mentioned in the new Epstein files. In email exchanges in 2012 and 2013, Musk discusses visiting Epstein’s infamous Caribbean island compound.
“If you find some time, come visit me on my island” in the Caribbean, Epstein wrote to Musk on September 25, 2012, urging the billionaire to “bring your friend or friends.” “Sounds good, will try to make it,” Musk replied.
One other email shows Musk discussed travelling to Epstein’s island, asking the financier: “What day/night will be the wildest party on your island?”
Musk has maintained that he repeatedly turned down the disgraced financier’s requests. “Epstein tried to get me to go to his island and I refused,” he posted on X in 2025.
And on Saturday, the Tesla CEO wrote, “I had very little correspondence with Epstein and declined repeated invitations to go to his island or fly on his ‘Lolita Express,’ but was well aware that some email correspondence with him could be misinterpreted and used by detractors to smear my name.”
Howard Lutnick
Released documents reveal that US President Donald Trump’s Commerce Secretary visited Epstein’s private Caribbean island with his family on at least one occasion.
This appears to contradict prior statements he’s made claiming he cut ties with the disgraced financier, who he’s called “gross,” decades ago. Emails show Lutnick and his wife accepted an invitation to Little St. James in the US Virgin Islands in December 2012 and planned to arrive by yacht with their children.
The Commerce Department, in a statement, said Lutnick had “limited interactions with Epstein in the presence of his wife and has never been accused of wrongdoing.”
Sergey Brin
Brin, the co-founder of Google, also found his name in the latest Epstein files. According to emails, he made plans with to meet with Epstein and Maxwell at his townhouse in New York years before the late financier was accused of sexually abusing underage girls.
“Dinners at Jeffrey’s are always happily casual and relaxed,” Maxwell wrote to Brin in April 2003. “Look forward to seeing you.”
Sarah Ransome, one of Epstein’s accusers, claimed in court documents in 2024 that she had met Brin and his then-fiancée, Anne Wojcicki, on Epstein’s island, which was the centre of his sex-trafficking operation for many years.
Other prominent names such as Richard Branson, billionaire founder of the Virgin Group, Steven Tisch, the New York Giants co-owner, and Casey Wasserman, the president of the committee for the 2028 Summer Olympics in Los Angeles have also found themselves named in the Epstein files.
It remains to be seen if this is the end of the road for the Epstein documents release saga.
