Zubeen Garg’s mysterious death on September 19 in Singapore is raising more eyebrows than it should have. The closure will take time. Fans and family continue to mourn and ponder what next in a case that continues to get murkier. He was only 52 when the world lost him. Tributes from all over began pouring in the moment they heard the traumatic news.
Amid the investigation, The All Assam Lawyers' Association has issued a statement that reads- “The death under mysterious circumstances has given rise to suspicion, mystery and a sense of conspiracy. Multiple FIRs have been lodged with the police in different parts of the State. Allowing their conscience to defend the accused will be a historical mistake for the legal fraternity."
No associate from Singapore for the SIT questioning
The SIT officials now feel that there is something more than what meets the eye. There is something definitely suspicious about the case. This was confirmed after no associate from Singapore showed up for the questioning.
The associates that were summoned by the SIT were Tanmoy Phukan, Abhimanyu Talukdar, Debojyoti Hazarika, Rupkamal Kalita, Siddharth Bora, Parikshit Sharma, Sudipta Chatterjee, and Bazid Ahmed.
Nobody has responded yet. Some people said that they could not show up because of personal difficulties, others did not respond at all. And some made the excuse of technical issues.
What Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma said
The Assam CM was quoted saying, “This is entirely up to them. The Assam government cannot bring anyone back to the state by force. We will have to coordinate with their parents to ensure their return. Assam Police cannot go to Singapore and arrest them, which is why we must bring them back through proper channels.”
CM Sarma added, “We have given them time until October 6, and we will take strict action if they refuse to return.”
