Yuzvendra Chahal and Dhanashree Verma’s marriage ended officially on 20th March after the divorce was granted on mutual grounds. While the real reason behind their separation is yet to be disclosed, a new report suggests that disagreements over where they would live played a critical role in parting ways.
After their marriage in December 2020, Dhanashree & Yuzvenda shifted to the latter’s house in Haryana to live with the cricketer’s parents. However, within a few days, the choreographer wanted to relocate to Mumbai, but reportedly, this did not sit well with Chahal.
“After tying the knot, Yuzi and Dhanashree had shifted to stay with Yuzi’s parents in Haryana and came to Mumbai only when they needed to. Yes, this Mumbai-Haryana jhagda was one of the main reasons why this much-in-the-paparazzi-world marriage ended. Yuzi was clear that he wouldn’t uproot himself from his parents’ home and surroundings," senior entertainment journalist Vickey Lalwani wrote on his post.
Dhanashree also garnered severe criticism and trolling for taking Rs 4.75 crore alimony from cricketer Yuzvendra Chahal.
Amid this, RJ Mahvash, whose dating rumours with Chahal have been garnering attention shared a cryptic post, which looked more like a dig at Dhanashree ’s alimony. Sharing a series of pics of her in a white long t-shirt dress adorned with red hearts and accessorised with a black belt, she captioned the pic, “Jhut, lalach, aur fareb se parey hain..khuda ka shukr ainey aaj bhi khade hain…" (Far from lies, greed, and deceit… Thank God, we are still standing today, looking in the mirror).
There were reports that Dhanashree was seeking Rs 60 crore in alimony from the cricketer. However, her family dismissed these claims and called these alimony reports ‘baseless’.
“We are deeply outraged by the baseless claims being circulated about the alimony figure. Let me be absolutely clear—no such amount has ever been asked, demanded, or even offered. There is no truth to these rumours whatsoever. It is deeply irresponsible to publish such unverified information, dragging not just the parties but also their families into unnecessary speculation. Reckless reporting like this only causes harm, and we urge the media to exercise restraint and fact-check before spreading misinformation and also be respectful towards everyone’s privacy," the statement read.
