Abhishek Bachchan and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan have been married to each other for 18 years. They rubbished their divorce rumours without saying a word and their fans continue to stand by them. And in an interview with Vickey Lalwani, ad filmmaker Prahlad Kakkar spilled the beans on the same.
The veteran revealed, “She is the bahu of the house and she still runs the house. I knew there was no truth in it. Because I knew why she was there. People were saying she was escaping from her marriage and living with her mother. She wasn’t living with her mother. She was just coming and spending time with her while her daughter was at school. And she didn’t come on Sundays.”
He added, “I knew her concerns for her mother. Sometimes, Abhishek also came with her to visit her mother.
Why would he come if there was anything like this? If you notice, neither Abhishek nor Aishwarya have given a comment on this. Why should they? Tum Bhaukte raho. She has always kept her dignity and journalists hated her for that.”
On Koffee With Karan, Abhishek Bachchan said he loves the fact that she loves him and he hates the way she packs. In another interview, the actor said he didn’t marry her because she was Miss World or the most gorgeous woman on the planet.
Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and Abhishek Bachchan were promoting their 2007 film Guruduring their international tour, The Unforgettables when a journalist asked the actress about losing herself to the actor after their marriage.
Rai responded, “I am looking forward to babies. I am enjoying marriage. There’s no question of losing oneself to it.”
Aishwarya Rai Bachchan began her career with Iruvar in 1997 that was directed by Mani Ratnam. The duo then went on to collaborate for films like Guru, Raavan, Raavan, and most recently, the Ponniyin Selvan series that dominated the IIFA 2024 Utsavam.
