Emraan Hashmi’s social-drama, Why Cheat India opened on 18 January amid
lukewarm reviews
and recorded a collection of Rs 1.71 crore on the first day. According to
Hindustan Times

Meanwhile, Uri: The Surgical Strike has been churning gold at the box office ever since the film hit theatres on 11 January. The Vicky Kaushal, Yami Gautam-starrer added another Rs 7.60 crore on Friday, pushing its total earning to Rs 78.54 crore. The film has already crossed the opening week collection of breakthrough hits Raazi , Stree , Badhaai Ho as well as Sonu Ke Titu Ki Sweety , and has swum past the Rs 75 crore mark.
As per trade analysts, Uri: The Surgical Strike bears the potential to enter the coveted Rs 100 crore club in its second week, if it continues the upward trend.
Directed by debutant Aditya Dhar, Uri: The Surgical Strike has been financed by by Ronnie Screwvala under the banner of RSVP Movies. Why Cheat India has been helmed by Soumik Sen and stars actress Shreya Dhanwanthary alongside Hashmi. The film has been bankrolled by Emraan Hashmi and T-Series’ Bhushan Kumar, Atul Kasbekar and Krishan Kumar.
