Miss World 2017 and actress Manushi Chhillar was last seen in Akshay Kumar and Tiger Shroff’s ‘Bade Miyan Chote Miyan’. And in an interview with Zoom, she revealed how she was a vegetarian all her life and had to eat meat for this film.
Manushi said, “I have been a vegetarian all my life. I always thought that I would never eat non-veg but then I signed ‘Bade Miyan Chhote Miyan’. Then I got Covid. I was very scared because I did not want my weight to lose because I had to build muscles for ‘Bade Miyan Chote Miyan.”
Manushi further said, “Then my father, who is a doctor, advised me to eat meat. Papa used to take great care of my diet during this period. I always told him to please make something that doesn’t taste like chicken. He used to sit near the dining table and force me to finish my food. Most of the shooting of ‘ Bade Miyan Chhote Miyan ’ took place in Jordan, Scotland, London and there were not many veg options available in Scotland and meat was the easiest source of protein for me.”
What went wrong with the film?
Speaking to Bollywood Hungama, several trade experts and exhibitors opined as to what went wrong. For Kumar’s film, Taran Adarsh observed, “The film has scale, face value and mass appeal. The makers haven’t cut corners. But the problem is that there’s no content in the film. Yes, there’s a lot of action that is very well executed. But there has to be some content and emotional thread to connect with. Secondly, there has been an overdose of India vs Pakistan in our films.”
