Welcome actor Mushtaq Khan reveals Akshay Kumar's staff was paid more than him: ‘Stayed in the same hotel as them’

Veteran actor and comedian Mushtaq Khan opened up about the pay disparity and revealed that he was paid less than Akshay Kumar’s staff while shooting for Welcome. He travelled in the economy class and was accommodated in the same hotel where Akshay’s stall was staying.

Recalling that time, he told on the Digital Commentary podcast, “My payment might have been lesser than Akshay Kumar’s staff in the film. Unfortunately, our films spend a lot of money on ‘stars’. We go everywhere on our own, we travel in economy and stay in the hotels provided by the makers. In Dubai, the hotel I was allotted, was the same hotel in which Akshay’s staff was staying. This happens a lot in big films.”

The actor revealed that the times are changing now and added, “But a lot of filmmakers want to end this disparity. I am doing a film titled Stree 2 and I get a lot of love and they take care of everyone. We have a lot of fun together. I recently did Railway Men and I had a lot of fun. The production guys gave a lot of respect. The new generation of production people and even actors are doing very well.”

Mushtaq Khan was recently seen in Sunny Deol and Ameesha Patel starrer _Gadar 2_, which turned out to be a monstrous blockbuster at the box office. He has worked in memorable films like Hum Hain Rahi Pyar Ke, Jodi No 1, Rowdy Rathore, Akele Hum Akele Tum, Dil Hai Ki Manta Nahin, Jab Pyaar Kisise Hota Hai, Dolly Kitty Aur Woh Chamakte Sitare, and many more.

He also featured in TV shows like Bharat Ek Khoj, Kuch Rang Pyar Ke Aise Bhi, Wagle Ki Duniya, Belan Wali Bahu, Nukkad and others.
